What is the Nature of Three Dimensionality? – 3-D Studio Graphics

Students explore theoretical and practical applications of experience and interaction design through projects addressing three-dimensional form, physical space and tactile response. Course content consists of readings, lectures and assignments, which interpret, involve and transform human engagement within the general design discourse. Projects evolve from conceptual origins and progress to constructed physical objects. Students are encouraged to consider the environmental impact of their making, so many of the final outcomes a built with upcycled materials.

Students develop complex mapping and research skills that allow them to communicate and frame the context in which their final designed outcome will exist. These 'real-world' methodologies come from the studios of IDEO and frog and are important skills that will engender these advance design thinkers in future courses.
